The 420-megawatt (MW) wind project will be developed along the Magdalena River, taking advantage of its strategic location near Royal Port. The wind park will be designed to maximize the wind potential in the Barranquilla region. A series of state-of-the-art wind turbines will be installed in carefully selected areas along the Magdalena River bank.
These projects have undergone comprehensive maritime, climatic, and meteorological studies.
Taking advantage of the favorable and consistent winds in the area. Thanks to the presence of 3 wind measurement towers, there is prior information on wind speed at different heights and the prevailing wind direction at the specific project site: an average of 10.2 m/s.
